2017 LGNZ Conference
This year LGNZ's annual conference and EXCELLENCE Awards was held in Auckland from 23-25 July 2017.
The 2017 conference theme was Creating pathways to 2050: liveable spaces and loveable places. There was a strong focus on on future thinking and creating liveable communities.
Over 600 delegates attended, such as mayors, chairs, chief executives, councillors and senior management from New Zealand's councils, along with key players from the private sector, business, government and non government agencies.
2017 LGNZ EXCELLENCE Awards
The LGNZ EXCELLENCE Awards are designed to showcase council projects, programmes and people who have made a real impact in
local communities.
The EXCELLENCE Awards recognise and celebrate excellent performance by councils with regard to community engagement, environmental impact, infrastructure management, economic development, cultural vibrancy, and overall value and service delivery.
This year, the fourth year the awards have been held, saw a total of 54 applications from councils around the country and the entries showed real examples of the local government sector delivering value and exemplary services to our communities.
2017 Awards Winners
The winners of the 2017 LGNZ EXCELLENCE Awards were named at the Fulton Hogan conference dinner and LGNZ EXCELLENCE Awards function on Monday 24 July 2017.
Congratulations to all our finalists and winners for this years Awards. The sector should be incredibly proud of its achievements as we celebrate these outstanding projects and individuals. We look forward to seeing what 2018 brings.
