On Tuesday 25 February 2020 LGNZ, supported by Kainga Ora and Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, hosted a Housing 2030 symposium.
Affordable and healthy housing are key ingredients to promoting well-being. Unfortunately, New Zealand’s regulatory regime fails to adequately promote these outcomes, whether it comes to building houses, making room for future growth, or accommodating those most in need.
LGNZ is working with central government and stakeholders to create an investment framework for the housing market that is competitive, provides affordable ownership, and meets high quality standards.
The LGNZ 2020 Housing Symposium offers an important learning and networking opportunity for mayors, chief executives and policy staff of all councils from across the country as well as central government agencies and stakeholders.
